High school students will experience a day dedicated to exploring how to LEAD WELL with speakers and workshops that support developing leadership skills that keep wellness top of mind.


We will have inspiring keynote speakers, relevant workshops as well as opportunities for interesting conversations and cultivating peer connections.

Ace Burpee

has worked in radio for over a decade and is well known for the hundreds of charitable events and causes that he donates his time to every year.

Currently the host of his own show on 103.1 Virgin Radio in Winnipeg, Ace has been a long-time advocate and strong supporter for those living with mental illness.

AJ Zeglen

a renowned fitness professional, having worked with Hockey Canada, the Winnipeg Jets, and various hockey and football players across different leagues.

With over a decade of expertise, he employs unique training techniques to benefit professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and community members alike.

Beyond the physical benefits, AJ believes in the profound impact of exercise on mental health, emphasizing its power to reduce stress, anxiety, and promote overall well-being, making him an advocate for mental wellness through physical fitness.

Amy Rasmussen-Waluk

is committed to helping people experience and maintain the good life. As an experienced trauma-informed therapist and post-secondary educator, she invites healing and sustainable wellness through the spirit of curiosity, compassion and vitality.

Amy is part of the Project 11 team and brings a therapeutic lens to enhance mental health curricula produced by the organization.

Audrey Hicks

is the Manager of Training and Risk Management at The True North Youth Foundation’s Camp Manitou, where she oversees their “Training Center of Excellence.” She manages training programs for internal staff, WJHA students and external Organizations, Not-for-Profits, Communities and Schools. Audrey is on the board of the Manitoba Camping Association and volunteers as an advisor for the Red Cross in First Aid and Psychological First Aid. She is also a mother of three adult children and enjoys traveling, hiking, and canoeing in her free time.

Chinwe Asagwara

is a trusted Registered Dietitian, Women’s Health Coach and recurring wellness expert for several media platforms.

She teaches how to improve overall health through a focus of healthy relationship with food and she believes that every woman deserves an opportunity to explore their physical abilities in the weight room, and be supported in her journey to good health in a way that feels encouraging, positive and fits their personal lifestyle.

Devon Clunis

is an international business and leadership consultant with extensive Executive Leadership experience. He was Chief of Police for the City of Winnipeg, Inspector General of Policing for the Province of Ontario, and co-authored two children’s books on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Devon employs a People First principle in all of his work, focused on ensuring individuals’ internal and external needs are addressed holistically to meet personal and professional goals. In a time of significant social unrest, Devon engages audiences in community-centric conversations that build understanding and create mutually beneficial paths forward.

Keith Macpherson

a mindfulness coach, speaker, and author with over 20 years of experience helping individuals live more mindful and balanced lives. His bestselling book, Making Sense of Mindfulness (2018), provides practical tools for integrating mindfulness into everyday life. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Keith also toured internationally as a professional musician and was a top finalist on Canadian Idol.

As a certified coach (CPCC) and leadership coach, Keith has led mental health and leadership training programs worldwide, including in North America, Africa, and Dubai. He continues to inspire others through his coaching sessions, live lectures, and his regular wellness column.

Kevin Lawler

After a 17-year career in Business Development and Recruitment based in the European and North American markets, Kev has dedicated himself to broadening perspective and removing barriers for youth and underestimated communities across Canada.

He strives to make a measurable impact on communities and corporations by facilitating meaningful dialogues that lead to sustainable employment outcomes. He has a firm belief that careers can drive social impact.

Dr. Lindsay Ross-Stewart

is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and the Director of Mental Performance at STRIVE Fitness and Therapy in Winnipeg. After over 15 years working in NCAA Division I athletics, including as Director of Mental Performance for the SIUE Cougars (2014-2022), she returned to her home city. Dr. Ross-Stewart has helped athletes, coaches, and teams enhance their mental game for peak performance.

She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Health at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Dr. Ross-Stewart earned her PhD in Psychology from the University of North Dakota and her B.A. in Psychology from Mount Allison University. Her research has been widely published, and she has received prestigious awards, including the 2024 AASP Faculty Excellence Award.

Mark Chipman

is the Executive Chairman of the Board of True North Sports & Entertainment and Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club. In addition, he serves as the Governor of the Winnipeg Jets on the NHL’s Board of Governors. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Mark attended St. Paul’s High School and later, the University of North Dakota where he played varsity football while earning an Honors B.A. in Economics and a Juris Doctorate in Law.

In addition to his business and hockey interests, Mark is actively involved in a number of community efforts. He established the True North Youth Foundation in 1996 and founded Gonzaga Middle School in 2016. More recently, Mark led the establishment of the Downtown Community Safety Partnership in 2020 and N’Dinawemak, a community shelter resource in 2021.

Dr. Meaghen Johnston

is the lead clinician and founder of Intentional Futures Counselling and Consulting, has a PhD in Social Work and is a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.

Led by her core values of contribution and connection Meaghen offers a unique approach to life that balances the need to process emotions alongside actionable strategies to skillfully navigate challenging situations.

Dr. Megan Hebert

a registered psychologist in Manitoba and Alberta, brings over 10 years of specialized expertise in providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals of all ages, encompassing assessment, diagnostics, intervention, consultation, workshops, research, and program development and evaluation. Her vast experience spans various settings, including schools, social services, private practice, and community and university mental health clinics. Currently, Megan holds the role of Clinical Director at KidThink.

Dr. Hebert holds memberships with organizations like the College of Alberta Psychologists, the Psychological Association of Manitoba, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association. Additionally, she actively contributes to the field by serving on the Manitoba Psychological Society Board of Directors.

Michael Redhead Champagne

is a community leader from Winnipeg’s North End, with family roots in Shamattawa First Nation. As a speaker, author, and on-screen personality, he shares his knowledge across Canada and beyond. Michael is dedicated to dismantling harmful systems and creating new ones based on justice, equity, and love. His work reflects Indigenous concepts such as wahkotowin, mino bimadisiwin, and sakihitowin, and he is reclaiming his Ininew language by starting a language nest at the St. John’s Public Library.

Michael organizes initiatives like the North End Grad Walk and the North End Historical Society. He is a board member for Fearless R2W and the Manitoba Health Coalition. Featured on TEDx Talks and APTN, Michael advocates for poverty reduction, reconciliation, and increased supports for children and families. His children’s book We Need Everyone is now available. Michael also loves Tetris, Stevie Wonder, and celebrating others’ success.

Dr. Morgan Marcoux

is a Child and Adult Psychiatrist who not only works with the WRHA but also works with our very own, Winnipeg Jets organization. He was born and raised in New Brunswick and after finishing his medical school training, moved to Winnipeg to finish his residency training in psychiatry.

Following his psychiatry residency, he turned his attention to child and adolescent psychiatry, where he now works helping children, teenagers, and families with mental and emotional health and has a particular interest in non-medication approaches to care. When he isn’t supporting young people, Dr. Marcoux can be found spending time with the Winnipeg Jets focusing on supporting sleep, performance and recovery.

Orlando Bowen

is a former CFL athlete and current executive director at One Voice One Team Youth Leadership charity. Orlando is dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of today’s youth. From motivational speaking to rigorous athletic training programs, there is no limit to what he is prepared to do to reach today’s generation.

Reid Davies

is a lifelong resident and big fan of Winnipeg.

Reid is a yoga instructor at Modo Yoga Winnipeg and teaches mindful movement for Project 11.

He also goes by DjDad and plays events around the city and province.

Reid is excited to participate in the first Adult Wellness retreat!

Sam Demma

Sam Demma is a best-selling author and one of the most in-demand keynote speakers today. He has shared the stage with icons like Kardinal Official and Sarah Blackwood, collaborated with brands like Taco Bell, delivered two TEDx talks, and has toured his messages across Canada, the United States and Kenya.

His work is often featured on national news shows like Marilyn Dennis, Breakfast Television, and, most notably, his mom’s Facebook. Sam delivers hundreds of performances annually, and his comical and entertaining performances address the topics of Empathy, Mental Health and Leadership.

Sara Orlesky

is a Canadian sports reporter, currently serving as a senior host and producer for the Winnipeg Jets. She was formerly the Winnipeg Bureau Reporter for TSN’s SportsCentre. In 2008, The Globe and Mail described her as “among the top young female sports broadcasters”.

Sara is a long-time good friend and supporter of Project 11 and has supported the development of the short documentary – Believe in Ryp about Project 11’s inspiration and has participated in P11 Youth Summits and Intermission videos over the years.

Sgt. Steve Brushett

With over 18 years in policing, Sgt. Brushett is a compassionate RCMP Officer specializing in Tactical, Use of Force, and Firearms training. Drawing on his experience as a police officer, tactical instructor, and former athlete, he provides realistic and practical insights to audiences, including Project 11 students. Sgt. Brushett is a strong advocate for youth, promoting physical and mental wellness to help them make healthy lifestyle choices.

A decorated RCMP member, Sgt. Brushett has received Commissioner Commendations for Bravery and Exceptional Service. He remains closely connected to his community by serving on various committees, attending cultural events, and conducting presentations on relevant topics. Outside of work, Sgt. Brushett enjoys family time, strength training, playing sports, and coaching youth. His dedication to balance inspires his focus on overall well-being.
